About the Author
MaryEvelyn was born in the 50s and reared on a farm in a small town in Ohio. She was the youngest of nine children. Being the youngest MaryEvelyn was blessed by getting to play the role of an only child after all of her siblings had left home to pursue their dreams. This brought her to writing in a little annex room in the farmhouse that was once occupied by her grandparents and their children many years earlier. Being an only child left a lot of quality time for MaryEvelyn to use her imagination and that she did by way of writing everything that popped into her head. In the little annex was a little round hole in the wall which she found to be the perfect hiding place for all of her writings.
As time went on and Mary grew up, she put her writing aside and shifted her focus on raising a family but would occasionally get published in newspaper columns locally and near by cities on topics from parenting to childhood imagination and farm life. A Little Help is MaryEvelyn’s first illustrated children’s book. Her unconventional style of writing using the character as the storyteller as it presently happens, brings you into the story with no lapse of time. She has also found it rewarding to base her stories on circumstances that actually occurred in her household. She has such fond memories of her life on the farm that many of her stories just took on a life of their own when she started to put the words on paper. MaryEvelyn is excited and relaxed about this new stage in her life and hopes you enjoy the ride of imaginative storytelling with her.
